      I use Lego blocks in 4 different colours to illustrate how DNA is a long ‘chain’ of 4 different molecules (A, C, G and T). DNA can be a sequence of any of these letters in any order, just like Lego can make a simple tower by clipping together any of the 4 colours of blocks in any order.

      Then you can show how genome evolution is like changes in the Lego tower, with new bits added, or some bits taken away, or some blocks changed for ones with different colours. You can compare two Lego towers just the same as the way we use computers to computer the DNA of different genomes.
