• Question: How important would astronomy be in a scientists life?, I've always been interested but I'm not sure they do them in GCSE's or Uni tests.

You can spend your whole working life studying astronomy if you want! Personally I don’t do that — my interest is pretty much just looking at star constellations — but some people do, for example at Universities. There’s apparently going to be a big announcement any day now about a new discovery about gravitational waves in space: http://www.theguardian.com/science/2014/mar/14/gravitational-waves-big-bang-universe-bicep

My son is doing GCSEs this year, and he does a little bit about astronomy in his Physics coursework. Some Physics A-levels have some astronomy in too. After that, if you go to University, you can do whole courses in astronomy: here’s links to some I found out about: http://tinyurl.com/q4cv6uf
