      My favourite scientist is Ada Lovelace. She invented a lot of the ideas that we use in modern computer programming even though because she was a woman she didn’t get to go to university or even school. But her mum liked maths and thought teaching Ada maths would calm her down (people had some pretty funny ideas back then). Ada didn’t have a computer to work with, because they hadn’t been invented yet, but she still invented ideas like using variables to store information and talked to Charles Babbage about the computing machine he was building.
