I didn’t particularly – I got 6 GCSEs A-C. I was a bit lazy at school. As got on in my education I became more engaged and worked harder. In the end I got a good degree which enabled me to go for and get a PhD.
I think I was lucky so I wouldn’t recommend doing what I did.
My GCSEs were pretty good. I got A* in French and Biology, and As in physics, maths and chemistry. I got B in everything else. My A levels weren’t as good. I got two Bs and two Cs. It was only really in my second year at university when I really fell in love with my subject, chemistry, and started doing really well.
I moved to the US when I was 4 and moved back to the UK when I was 16, so I didn’t do GCSEs! I got okay grades, but nothing special–to be honest I found the middle part of high school a bit boring a lot of the time. I always liked doing experiments and projects better than passing exams. 🙁
Hi @megan88815 I got all A’s at GCSE, which was great. But then I didn’t do so well with my A’levels (C and 3 Ds). But this didn’t stop me doing genetics as a degree and then going on to have a career in genetics.
