      @chemicalexplosion3 My next project is looking at how the NHS will manage DNA sequencing, i.e. for patients with cancer, they may have ALL of their genes looked at in one go (not just the cancer genes). This means that they could get information about their risk of millions of other things totally unrleated to their cancer. Is this fair? Is this right? I’m looking at that.

      I hoping to start work soon on some methods of studying bacteria very quickly, so that the results can be useful to doctors working in hospitals.

      I hope to do some work looking at the DNA sequences of bacteria and identifying genetic changes (mutations) that have allowed the bacteria to evolve to cause worse disease in humans.

      At the moment I am applying for funding to study interactions between proteins that are important for the immune system.
