Hi @beaniebeans13 Stargardt’s disease is an eye condition that is usually inherited from parents who are ‘carriers’ for it. This means that the parents are not affected but they have a chance of passing it on to their children.

People with Stargardt’s are unlikely to pass it on to their own children unless they have a child with someone else who also has Stargardt’s or someone who is a carrer.

Are you worried about this or do you know someone with it? If so, going to see a genetic counsellor is helpful (I’m a genetic counsellor myself). A GP can put you in touch with the local ones. Genetic counsellors can explain more about the inheritance of the condition and also the ways of coping with it.
