All sorts of things! There’s a saying in biology, that everything that can possibly go wrong in an experiment *will* go wrong. But sometimes that leads to the most interesting results. We did an experiment last year where we created some special DNA, and then tried to read that DNA back. Some parts completely failed; now we’ve learnt something new about particular patterns of DNA that can’t be read using even the most up-to-date machines!
