• Question: Which disease, that kills most people a year, is genetic?

      I’m actually not sure of the answer to this question. There are many pretty bad genetic conditions that cause a baby to die before it is even born, the genetic changes have such a profound effect that they cause development to be stalled. Fortunately these are really very rare. There is often a genetic component in many serious, life-threatening conditions e.g. heart disease, cancer, but usually the cause is a mixture of genes and envirnoment and not just genetics on its own.
