      Hi @bananagur1007
I understand many different people claim to have invented the Internet. Tim Berners-Lee invented the world wide web (he appeared in the opening ceremony at the olympics in the UK), prior to this many computer scientists from various organisations created systems that allowed communication across platforms. I heard that the military in the US was a big player in the early systems. It seems though that it is something that came about organically – i.e. people built on other’s ideas and gradually as knowledge grew, it emerged. However, I suspect that Jane might have a more intelligent answer!

Anna, your answer is great! The World Wide Web is what most people think of when they think of the internet and it runs on a set of protocols for moving information about & connecting different computers together that were written by Tim Berners-Lee.
