Pretty much all animals have been programmed over the history of evolution to behave in certain ways. For example, birds know to feed their young, and monkeys know what food is good to eat. Animals also know what other animals are likely to be ‘enemies’ —- mostly the avoid them, but if they have to they will fight. In the wild, cats and dogs would probably steer clear of each other, but they are both domestic animals and so they end up living close together with humans. Sometimes they can be good friends, but other times they might get annoyed. Do you have brothers or sisters? Do you ever get annoyed with them and fight? It’s probably like that with cats and dogs.

      Hi again
Dogs are natural predators and they respond to movement so if they see a cat run their natural instinct is to chase it. Cats are also predators too but usually they prey on smaller animals than themselves like mice. If cats and dogs are raised together then they are less likely to fight and more likely to be friends.
